Professional Career
On June 19, 2015, Curran debuted his T20 career as a senior against Kent at the domestic level. He played a T20 match at The Oval at the NatWest T20 Blast event. He was then 17 years and 16 days old. Similarly, Sam Curran made his first-class debut on July 13, 2015, at The Oval against Kent in a County Championship match.
After Tony Lock (who debuted 69 years ago at 17 years and eight days), Curran became Surrey’s second-youngest first-class cricket player in history at 17 and 40 days. The director of cricket at Surrey Club, Alec Stewart, admired his performance and said,
“He was the best 17-year-old cricketer I have seen.”
International Career
Curran received player of the tournament while playing for the Zimbabwe Cricket U13s in the 2011–12 CSA U13 Week in South Africa. He played in the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup on behalf of England’s Under-19 team. In January 2018, Curran was selected for the first time as a senior player for England for the Trans-Tasman Tri-Series against Australia and New Zealand in 2017–18.
However, he did not participate in any matches. Sam was selected for the England Test squad on May 30, 2018, a day before the second Test against Pakistan to substitute for Ben Stokes. He played his first One Day International match against Australia on June 24, 2018.

Domestic Career
Curran played for Surrey, England’s County Cricket Club, in the Second XI, Under-15, and Under-17 levels. He played for Weybridge in the Surrey Championship Premier Division in 2014. The Auckland Aces signed him for the Super Smash in 2017–18. Kings XI Punjab picked him in December 2018 during the player auction for the IPL 2019. They Purchased him for 7.20 Crore Rupees (US$ 1 million).
The International Cricket Council (ICC) selected him in March 2019 as one of eight players to watch before the 2019 IPL. The Kings XI Punjab let him go before the 2020 Indian Premier League auction. T20I Career and T20I World Cup 2022
On November 1, 2019, he played his first T20I match for England against New Zealand. In his debut T20I against Afghanistan, Curran took five wickets. He made history and became the first-ever English Player to achieve it. Sam received the Man of the Match award in this match as the game ended in a victory for England. He won the Man of the Match award again when he took 3/12 wickets in just four overs in the Final against Pakistan.
Samuel got 13 wickets with a bowling average of 11.38, becoming the Second-Highest Wicket-Taker in the tournament. After his brilliant performance in the tournament, he got the Player of the Tournament award. With his victorious career achievements, Curran made his place in the England team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in September 2021.
